Introducing our Snare Drum Sample Pack. Instead of recording several snares and a few one shots we wanted to create something that covered a lot of ground. With that in mind, we chose to record ONE snare. The Mapex Black Panther Predator Snare, a 6x14 Copper Snare Drum.

We wanted to maximize as much as we could out of this snare. So we started by record it with an excellent drummer who knows how to tune! We ended up recording 3 different tunings with 3 different levels of dampening - without dampening, some dampening, and the BIg Fat Snare Drum - for each tuning. That's 9 different base sounds: low and dry to high and full of tone. In addition to that we focused on grabbing multiple samples at each velocity (ghost notes to hard hitting backbeat hits), different articulations (center hits, rims shots, x-stick, etc.), and different sticks (sticks, brushes, broom sticks, etc.)

Oh and the recordings were engineered in an acoustically treated room, with high quality gear, and a multi mic setup that includes top and bottom close mics, a mono overhead, spaced pair overheads, and room mics. You will have access to all of the individual mics. And for those of you who don't want to mix and blend mics, we went ahead and blended some mic combinations for you. So you can just grab what you like and move on to the next thing.

Lastly, we created presets in Native Instruments Battery 4 and Steven Slate Trigger 2. For owners of these plugins you'll be able to quickly access a variety of snare sounds and figure out what's right for your song.
